Cheung Chau Island is a famous getaway place for locals, backpackers and tourists. It is a peaceful yet vibrant island, which water sports and seafood, is the main attractions. It is accessible by ferry and it is about 45 minutes from the Hong Kong Island.
There are great chalet houses and local teenagers love to spend their holidays there with their friends while we can also see others organizing family outings and barbeque along the beach and chalet houses.
Cheung Chau Bun Festival is one of the main festivals there and it attracts many locals and tourists during that period of time. There are many competitors who will take part in the festival to fight for the auspicious bun. The event starts exactly at midnight when the gong is sounded, and these strong and young men will start climbing the 60-foot tower, hoping to snatch the crowning bun. By achieving that, it is believed to bring the best of good fortune throughout the year.
Other than that, they also serve great seafood, live and fresh from the waters around the island. It is definitely a great and affordable relaxation an chill-out place for the youngsters and backpackers

Aberdeen is situated at the southern part of the Hong Kong Island. In the olden days, many fishermen and their families lived and worked on the fishing boats that were docked there at the Aberdeen. These fishermen are mainly the Hakkas, one of the dialects of the Chinese in China.
Nowadays if you visit Aberdeen, you will be highly recommended to take a half hour boat ride around Aberdeen and you will still see some of these fishermen and their families living there. From there, you can see how they make a living with their fishing skills and also their lifestyle on living on the boat.
Another famous tourism spot at Aberdeen is the Jumbo Seafood restaurant. It is a floating restaurant that is very famous among the tourists and many well-known and established culinary competitions are held there. It is often used in Hong Kong or even Hollywood movies. Other than the famous restaurants, we can also see small sampan operators who also sell live seafood and cook for you on the spot. You can enjoy fresh seafood as in the floating seafood restaurants.

Temple Street Night Market is the most popular night market in Hong Kong. It not only attracts tourists but it remains as the most hangout place for the locals too. It is situated at Yau Ma Tei, and it comes to life when the sun is setting. Its operating hour is from 4pm till very late. It is the busiest flea market at night.
The vendors there sell almost everything, from merchandises such as shoes, bags, and apparels to watches, hand phone accessories and even pirated CDs, DVDs and so on. You can even find high quality of imitation goods such as luxury brands of bags and watches.
One thing to take note of will be a pickpocket. As there is one row of stalls on each side and the walking path is pretty narrow, people tend to weave and squeeze through each other, and hence it became easy for the pickpockets to operate. Therefore, do remember to zip your bags properly and the best way is not to carry anything behind you; carrying a waist pouch will be an ideal choice.
Other than merchandises, you can find lots of stalls at the sides of the street selling local snacks, pastries to seafood and freshly cooked food. These stalls are known as the Dai Pai Dong; it means foods stalls lined up along the street.
Another attraction in the Temple Street Night Market is the Canto Opera street performers. They are the very original performers of the famous Cantonese operas. Each and everyone opera bears a touching story behind it and you can easily spend half to one hour watching the operas. It is also a great way to learn the Hong Kong culture and history.

The Peak has one of the most spectacular views in Hong Kong, it is known as Victoria’s Peak. It is also the highest point on the Hong Kong Island. It is very popular among the rich and famous whom have their luxurious homes built on the Peak, while others enjoy its view and entertainment spots.

The Peak is accessible most commonly by the Peak Tram for visitors and tourists, while only the residents of the Peak are allowed to drive their cars into the private roads. The lower terminus is only a 10 minutes walk from the J2 exit of the Central MTR station, while you can also take Bus 15C from the Star Ferry Pier. Tram tickets can be purchased in cash or with the Octopus Card, and there is also a special package ticket that you can purchase which entitles you access to the Sky Terrace. From the Sky Terrace, you can see the whole Hong Kong Island in 360 degrees and you can even see some of the smaller islands around Hong Kong!

There are many shopping outlets and dining spots inside the Peak Galleria. It is definitely a great experience shopping and dining at Victoria Peak with great views onto the city and the harbor.

You can also visit Madame Trussauds’ wax museum that houses many famous Hong Kong artistes as well as Hollywood stars.
